MTN BUSHFIRE 2017 ARTIST APPLICATIONS OPEN - MUSICIANS & ARTISTS IN ALL MEDIUMS WELCOME TO SUBMIT


 MTN Bushfire 2017(26-28th May) announces the launch of its application process for candidates interested in participating in this celebrated event, named as one of the seven African festivals you really have to see’ by CNN and as the “top African festival” by BBC.

MTN BUSHFIRE is Swaziland’s internationally acclaimed music & arts festival that celebrates creative expression whilst promoting social responsibility, stimulating the economy and drawing talent and tourists from across Africa and around the world.
 
Each year a multi-generational global community of more than 20,000 “BRING THEIR FIRE” to the scenic farmlands of the Malkerns Valley to experience the three day event.
 
Whilst MTN Bushfire is most well-known as Southern Africa’s most diverse and inclusive world music festival featuring artists from over a dozen countries, it is also an arts & culture festival. The event includes contemporary and traditional visual and performing arts, cultural activities including a compelling line-up of theatre, poetry, dance, art exhibits & installations, story-telling, puppetry, film, as well as themed workshops and design installations.
 
 
The #BRINGYOURFIRE  call to action is a unique concept to the MTN BUSHFIRE Festival and every year the initiative presents a creative programming of workshops, discussions, art exhibitions and guest speakers, creating a platform for conversation and debate to better understand the issues surrounding Africans - from community level challenges to global concerns. 
 
MTN Bushfire is looking for inspired African and international musicians as well as artists in all creative mediums to “Bring their Fire” and support this mandate that sees local partners benefiting from a portion of ticket sales on an annual basis. MTN Bushfire supports child-headed household and AIDS orphans through NGO Young Heroes, as well as contributes 100% of merchandise proceeds to non-profit Gone Rural boMake’s community development projects.
With acts from over 17 countries in 2016, MTN Bushfire provides unparalleled opportunity for both established and emerging talent to set the fire alight at this high profile event attracting attendees from across Africa and around the world.
 
 
Deadline for submitting applications is 31st of October 2016 through the MTN Bushfire website (www.bush-fire.com).
Due to the large number of submissions, only successful applicants will be contacted.
