MTN BUSHFIRE RISES TO NEW HEIGHTS AS THE FESTIVAL CITY TAKES FORM
Like a phoenix rising, the magical MTN Bushfire festival city has begun to sprout from the fertile grounds of Malandela’s farm in the Malkerns Valley.
Traditionally-inspired native American Sioux teepees have been erected under the aegis of a visiting Lakota Sioux, the imagination-fueling Kids Zone blossoms like a garden in spring, an inspired market featuring handcrafted goods and home spun cuisine begins to take shape while an alternative interactive art space materializes in the previously barren confines of The Barn…
And with music, dance and cultural performances highlighting the tone for this annual festival, sound and lighting is of paramount importance. Towards that end, the technical acumen of South Africa’s Prosound, a leading sound, lighting, structural and AV company, will serve to create the festival’s inimitable ambiance and highlight the remarkable performances slated for this year’s event. Enjoying its second year as MTN Bushfire’s technical partners, Prosound is stepping up its involvement by streaming the event through their internet radio show Prosound Live, offering edited podcasts to listeners around the world. Like so much featured at MTN Bushfire 2012, this bringing this experience global is another first for the visionary festival. About his company’s participation, Prosound’s Justin Ackers says: “The Bushfire ethos and brand fit well with Prosound. We strongly support the promotion and development of African arts and music and believe Bushfire provides the perfect platform to showcase the best that Africa has to offer.”
