Mr. Freddy is a duo of versatile drummer Mwesigwa Kisaakye and multi-instrumentalist Ralph Louis Smit. They inhabit a sonic realm that draws on improvisation, world music, electronic pallets and psychedelic hues. They fuse world music, break beats, free jazz and minimalism into something entirely their own; their performances are transporting, intimate and intense yet groovy and driving. Mr. Freddy will be collaborating with Ke Niel We, Kenielwe Mokoena on the MTN Bushfire stage. Ke Niel We is a visual artist and curator from Pretoria who’s her art is inspired by the processes of the natural world, the play of order and chaos and the profound relationships that occur in-between ones personal experience and that of the external world. This Collaboration promises to be a magical audiovisual performance that will explore chaos, order, transcendental spaces and the outright groovy.
This collaboration has been made possible by Capital Arts Revolution and MTN Bush Fire.
