MTN BUSHFIRE’s commitment to sustainability as manifested through its #BRINGYOURFIRE call to ignite action for social change, MTN BUSHFIRE has always been committed to working with the local Swazi community.
Over the past decade, MTN BUSHFIRE has continually brought its fire with a significant percentage of profits supporting local charities including Young Heroes, an initiative that supports over 1,000 AIDS orphans.
In a special ceremony at World Travel Market Africa 2017 for hundreds of tourism industry experts, practitioners and media, the winners were announced within the context of 2017 as International Year of Sustainable Tourism.
Harold Goodwin, Chair of the Judging Panel explained the judging criteria, “ As in the World Responsible Tourism Awards the judges looked for winners who might educate and inspire others, challenging the industry to achieve more by demonstrating what can be done by businesses and organisations to realise the ambition of Responsible Tourism. That ambition is simply put: to use tourism to make better places for people to live in. This also benefits the industry: great places to live are great places to visit.”
The winners of the World Responsible Tourism Awards will be announced next month. MTN BUSHFIRE will take place from May 26th -28th in Swaziland.
