STAGES

MTN Bushfire is known and loved for its variety of stages that showcase dynamic and diverse talents from Africa and around the globe. From the legendary outdoor Main Stage to the intimate heart of the festival in the House On Fire Amphitheatre and the explosive electronic dance energy of the Firefly Stage, MTN Bushfire’s multidisciplinary programme comes alive in an electrifying way. Be part of the intimate creative activism programme in the UN Bring your Fire Zone. Enjoy the family-friendly excitement of the KidZone Stage and witness the gravity-defying feats of The Cirk Stage in the Main Arena. MTN Bushfire Main Stage

The MTN Bushfire Main Stage showcases the biggest international and African artists to a pulsating crowd of thousands. The Main Stage opens out onto sprawling lawns and pristine farmland with the breathtaking Mdzimba mountains rising in the background. Noted as the best music festival destination for a fantasy vacation by MTV Iggy/The Future of Music, this stage showcases an amazing balance of traditional and contemporary acts, as well as collaborations from a broad range of countries and genres.

The Amphitheatre

The House On Fire Amphitheatre is an awe-inspiring performance area with a distinctly unique flavour that lies at the heart of the festival. A sunken ‘Afro-Shakespearean Globe Theatre’ that houses a range of thought-provoking entertainment comprising music, poetry, theatre and dance, this stage provides an enchanting setting for artists and audiences.

Bring Your Fire Stage

The Bring Your Fire Zone Stage is an intimate acoustic stage that preserves the old Barn Stage’s aesthetic with pallet furniture and hay bales.  A full programme of arts advocacy, as well as fun and interactive activities, including drumming sessions, crafting, spoken word poetry and a touch of opera will keep your spirits high! Musicians, poets, and theatre productions all bring their fire here.

FireFly Stage

The Firefly Stage is an explosive and high-energy space to dance the weekend away. A melting pot of diverse talent, both local and international, showcase their skills and bring you the very best that Electronic, House, Hip Hop and Amapiano have to offer.

MTN Bushfire’s festival environments are carefully curated Zones that offer an experiential spread of global eats in the food trading areas, sustainable artisanal shopping in The Barn Marketplace, creatively stimulating fun for children, as well as the chance to Bring Your Fire and make a contribution towards positive social and environmental change.

Global Food Village

Enjoy the delights of the MTN Bushfire Global Food Village and celebrate the food delicacies which present a diversity of culture-inspired gourmet street food created by the most seasoned vendors. You are invited on a savoury journey of the senses with tantalising tastes – from East Africa and the Mediterranean to the heart of Eswatini. Explore different pockets of the festival to discover other delicious pop-up eateries to fuel the fire in your belly!

The BARN Marketplace

 Dive into the MTN Bushfire Marketplace and discover the memorably creative, sustainably-sourced, quality products and services on offer. This space is designed for the ethical consumer, with each company or artisan contributing in a positive way to the environment and their communities. Products are preferred handmade from recycled, natural and environmentally friendly materials, and selected against strict criteria based on our #GREENYOURFIRE mandate and commitment towards reducing single-use plastic materials.

Bring Your Fire ZONE

Your Fire is your spirit, your passion and your energy, so Bring Your Fire to this inspiring and interactive creative advocacy space located at the very heart of the main festival arena!

Find out about innovations in sustainable lifestyles, and greener living; take part in the fun, thought-provoking activations; and join your voice to the inspiring discussions and talk-shops in the Bring Your Fire Zone. Help to promote awareness around burning social and environmental issues that impact our daily lives and our future, both locally and globally, then take a piece of the Bring Your Fire spirit home, to ignite tangible action towards positive social and environmental change in your community.

Golden Lounge

The Golden Lounge offers a more relaxed way to enjoy the festival. Raised platforms give clear views of the main stage, while wait service and comfortable seating make this exclusive space ideal for festival attendees who desire a respite from the queues. Covered and open-air areas, with heaters, upgraded bathroom facilities, a full bar and meal service make this higher ticket price worth every cent. 

Kidzone

The festival is a family-friendly event, so let your young Fire Starters run free in this secure adventurous space filled with stimulating and fun-filled activities ranging from storytelling, sculpting and music workshops to high-energy lawn games. Each year, the festival works with a special theme for the KidZone that inspires creativity, engagement and skills development for young people of all ages, overseen by experienced, vetted child-care workers.
