With thousands of people attending the festival, many of them coming from outside Eswatini, the borders can be heavy with traffic. We strongly advise planning your trip to arrive the day before, or at least early in the day, to avoid long waits at Immigration.

Please note that many of the smaller border posts have been closed to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

What you need for entry:

You will need a valid passport to enter Eswatini. You may also require an entry visa. Please check with your Embassy or the Eswatini Tourism Authority website for visa requirements.

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS:

Eswatini requires travellers to provide a negative Covid-19 PCR test result, taken not more than 72 hours before crossing the border, for entry. For more information on Covid-safety requirements, please visit the Eswatini Tourism Authority website here.

For comprehensive information on travelling to Eswatini, including visa requirements, Covid-safety requirements, border operating hours, information on travelling with children through the SA border, road tolls and flight information, please visit the Eswatini Tourism Authority Website.

The Hospitality & Tourism Association of Eswatini (HOTAES) Facebook Page and Eswatini Travel Facebook Group are also very helpful in providing the latest updates regarding travel across Eswatini’s borders.
