Media accreditation for the 16th edition of MTN Bushfire, taking place from 26th-28th May 2023, is now open.

Journalists, photographers, videographers and bloggers from established and reputable national, regional, or international newspapers, magazines, wire and news services, radio and television stations and networks, including online publications, are invited to apply for media accreditation for this year’s festival. Travel writers, stringers and freelancers are also encouraged to apply.

Applications can be made through the Press Accreditation page on the MTN Bushfire website, where media will be required to fill out an application form from the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology before the festival can accredit them.

Media Accreditation applications will close on 28th April 2023.

Named “Top African festival” by the BBC and hailed by CNN as one of the “7 African music festivals you really have to see,” MTN Bushfire is looking forward to reigniting the fire in the beautiful farmlands in the valley of Malkerns, Eswatini, for a family friendly, eclectic celebration of some of the finest music in Africa and beyond.

With its roster of international talent, and the innovative, environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive programming, as well as its amazing spirit of diversity and celebration, MTN Bushfire is a major media event that attracts media practitioners and journalists from around the world.

Accredited media will be able to attend media press conferences, request interviews with artists, and have access to the front of stage for photos and videos. The designated Media Centre, equipped with power and wireless internet, is the festival hub for media information and interviews and journalists are encouraged to make use of it.

It should be noted that media accreditation does not include any travel or accommodation unless specifically pre-arranged with MTN Bushfire. Journalists should ensure they book accommodation soon, as nearby lodgings fill up quickly. Accredited journalists may want to consider purchasing camping passes.

More information on accommodation options, including a list of possible places to stay, is available in the Plan section on the festival website, www.bush-fire.com.

All media queries should be directed to communications@bush-fire.com.
